The Goodwill Wanderers is a friendly
cricket club based in the Harrow/Watford area. Formed by a
group of friends in 1992 the Goodwill continue strongly in the
new century with new blood catching the cricket fever.
As a Wandering side we cannot, regretfully, offer
the hospitality of a return fixture. As with many social sides,
the Goodwill can vary in strength from week to week. On
average it would be fair to say we are weak medium.
Another close win against
a very hospitable and friendly Berkhamstead side sees the Goodwill
into the last week of the season. Excellent fielding in damp
conditions kept the opposition to 95 all out but, as so often, we
made hard work of knocking off the runs, reaching the total with
three balls and one wicket remaining.
For those asking - the
prediction for this season would have been;
Played 19 Won 5 Lost 9 Drawn 4
Abandoned 1 at a score of 121 for 7 (opposition 142 for 7)
The reality is on the
left, the average score this season is 145 for 7 (opposition 154
for 8)
The MJA award will not be updated until the end of
the season - don't want people playing for the averages now, do
we?
